Release Time:04.09.2024

The E-COSM 2024 program will comprise several types of presentations.

All papers, including regular papers, invited papers, position papers and industrial papers must be submitted electronically through the PaperPlaza Conference Manuscript Management System.

The submissions will be evaluated by the Conference Editorial Board and International Program Committee. During the review process all the people involved (Editorial Board, Committees, Associate Editors, anonymous reviewers) undertake to respect an implicit confidentiality pact on all contents of submitted papers of which they become aware.

Please use IFAC templates and Style files for all paper submissions. It is recommended to use the LaTeX or Word template files available from the Author Guide. Only PDF files will be accepted during paper submission.

Regular Papers

Papers are invited in the form of regular manuscripts (limited to 6 pages; 8 pages at an extra cost). Note that short manuscripts are not considered. These documents will be included in the official conference proceedings published in IFAC-PapersOnLine.

Invited Session Proposals

Proposals are sought from those wishing to organize an invited session. An invited session consists of 6 papers, which present a unifying theme from a diversity of viewpoints. The invited session papers must be submitted separately by the respective authors, which will be individually reviewed along with the proposal itself. Upon submission of the proposal the session organizer will receive a session code, which should be communicated to the authors of the invited papers for the submission of their contributions.

Invited Session Papers

The six invited session papers must be submitted separately by their authors using the session code provided by the invited session organizer. Invited papers will undergo a review process similar to that of contributed papers. Invited papers must be submitted through the PaperPlaza Conference Manuscript Management System and must be formatted in accordance with the submission policy.

(Note that a discussion paper that is going to be submitted to an invited session, please choose the type of "Discussion paper", and after completing the submission, the author needs to tell the Session Organizer the Paper ID.)

Industrial Papers

IFAC aims at increasing the industrial participation at all IFAC conferences. The paper that includes authors who are from industry could be submitted as "Industrial paper". An industrial paper can vary in length from 2 to 4 pages. Note that the industrial papers also do not need copyright transfer and will not be published on IFAC PapersOnLine.

Discussion Papers

Discussion papers are submitted with the goal of being only presented at the conference, in order to get feedback and generate discussion with participants, without generating a publication (that means, they are not going to published at IFAC-PapersOnLine). For a (fast) reviewing process, a document with 1 to 4 pages must be submitted, which gives a short overview of the concepts/ideas to be presented and (this should be mandatory!) indicating why the proposed topics are interesting to be discussed at the event.

Copyright Conditions

All publication material submitted for presentation at an IFAC-sponsored meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original and hence cannot be already published, nor can it be under review elsewhere. The authors take responsibility for the material that has been submitted. IFAC-sponsored conferences will abide by the highest standard of ethical behavior in the review process as explained on the Elsevier webpage, and the authors will abide by the IFAC publication ethics guidelines.
